Baroc developed web based employee time management software “COPAKS” for Cobra Software AG, Switzerland. Cobra develops and markets healthcare applications. They develop these applications in-house plus get it developed offshore. A lot of Cobra’s revenue comes by way of maintenance and support services to its clients. These jobs are executed and billed on an hourly basis.
The Problem
Due to the extensive size of their products, clientele and support network for various services, Cobra Software were looking for a solution, which would help them to do proper billing and hence try and maximize the returns for their efforts. Earlier they had to do this on paper, which made the job of tracking hours per client/product difficult. Many of their employees spent a lot of times at customer end making it difficult for them to send their time sheets back to the office for doing the billing. Hence the requirement to get a custom solution developed.

The system is developed using ASP/HTML for front-end, Visual Basic for reporting tool. The backend database is Microsoft SQL Server.

Baroc performed a comprehensive scope study to clearly understand the need of COBRA Software. This led to designing and developing a scalable and robust web based solution. Baroc developed a web application that delivered the required functionality. As per their requirement COBRA Software is able to minimize the time required to generate an invoice, make it easy for employees to enter the data from wherever they are, i.e. in office or customer’s end doing support/installation. Overall the time spent in a year on time management activity was reduced by around 50%.
