The Problem
Riverview, a company providing ASP service for document management was looking for an offshore partner to develop a state of the art, customizable document management system. The proposed system was a logical extension to their existing document management service designed for a particular industry vertical. The customization was required in the document filing process. Such customization would enable Riverview to provide its ASP service to other industry verticals apart from the one they were servicing. Based on the track record of Baroc, Riverview decided to partner with us to develop such an application.

The system is based on proven n-tier architecture. The application is hosted on a Windows 2000. The UI is developed in ASP/HTML (IE4/NS4 and above), middle tier comprises of ATL/COM components residing in Microsoft Transaction Server, while the backend database is SQL Server. The migration tool and low usage components are written in Visual Basic.

Baroc performed a comprehensive scope study to clearly understand the existing application and the new features that Riverview wanted to incorporate in the new application. This led to designing and developing a scalable and robust solution using the clients existing infrastructure. Baroc developed a web application that delivered the required functionality. The System is productive and deployed in at least 2 industry verticals, proving to be an effective and cost saving documents management solution for the client. In healthcare environment, the DMS solution assists with HIPAA Compliance, by offering security features that provide the foundation for HIPAA-compliant privacy and security policies.
